Pimped – Celebrating with Scholarship
Pimped was conceived in response to one of medical training’s most stressful traditions – clinical pimping. Student loans are another, perhaps even more stressful aspect of medical education. To celebrate the launch of Pimped, we’re excited to offer a small $1,000 scholarship.
Eligibility Requirements
Current medical students and recent graduates with student loan debt are eligible for this award, so long as the payee is a qualified 501 (c)(3) not for profit organization.
The Pimped Medical Scholarship will be awarded to a current medical student/resident/or related postgraduate who meets the following criteria:
- Likes the Pimped Facebook page at facebook.com/pimpedmed.
- Applied to download and test the free beta version of Pimped – A Medical Flashcard App – on PimpedApp.com/app.
- Is selected from amongst their peers in the beta group through a combination of random selection and peer voting. Follow the updates on Facebook for more information in the coming weeks.
The scholarship fund will be established at a rate of $1 / like up to 1,000 likes, at which point a randomized subset of those 1,000 will be invited to submit a profile to the fans of Pimped for voting.
Students must demonstrate a strong commitment to humanitarian public service and compassionate patient care. There are no restrictions on populations served, the field of medical specialization or geographical area.
